Conclusion
Introduction
The history of Azusa Street Mission, which was started by Brother William Seymour from circa 1906 to 1909, is that they had meetings three times a day for the three years. Why did this great move of God STOP? Brother Seymour decided to organize. As soon as he ORGANIZED, this great move of God STOPPED!!!!!!
Authority
Who is your authority?
Why are they your authority?
What Bible verse(s) do you use as your defense?
"And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him (Jesus) to be the head over all things to the church,"Ephesians 1:22
This verse teaches Jesus is "to be head over all things to the church"! Denominations/organizations don't
have a place with Jesus!
”For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing."Ephesians 5:23-24
"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." Colossians 1:18
During the time Jesus was on the earth what were the names of the denominations? Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees, and Essenes! Was Jesus pleased with these denominations? NO of course not, He didn’t like denominations back than, and He still doesn’t!
I. Rejection of God's Controlhas been around for along time.
A. The Israelites rejected God’s rule over them by asking for a king.
“Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, [5] And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
[6] But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. [7] And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.”1 Samuel 8:4-7
Organization, which is just another name for denomination, is just another substitute for avoiding God’s rule. Men with a demon of control, the Jezebel spirit, want to take the place of God in people’s lives. Some are very power hungry, building empires in which to rule others and collect monies (maybe none of the money will go to the poor!). Of course not all organizations are bad. Schools, post offices, police depart-ments, businesses, etc. hopefully are good organizations. Is a church an organization? Yes. A church has Jesus as its head, elders to shepherd the sheep. Who is the boss of the sheep? Jesus. But in a church setting, denominations/organizations are bad, because they are of the devil! Why? Because they take the place of Jesus!
B. Nicolaitanes
Who do you want to please, God or a denomination? Sure a denomination can give you a license to preach, Jesus gives you the anointing to preach, so you don’t need a license!
“But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.” Revelations 2:6
“So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.” Revelations 2:15
The Greek meaning of ‘Nicolaitanes’ is ‘nico’ means control and ‘laitanes’ means ‘people’. God hates the sin of those who control His people.
So, Jesus hates having people control His people!
What is the ministry of a pastor? To control or lead?
C. Korah
Korah in Numbers 16 decided to start a denomination. He challenged God's authority of placing Moses as spiritual leader over the congregation. Korah, as denominational leader, wanted to be the one to place leadership over God's people. He challenged God's authority. He challenged God's authority! Is it okay for denominations to challenge God's authority? Denominations/organizations take the place of God!
“And he hath brought thee near tohim, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?”Numbers 16:10
"And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins."Numbers 16:26
Is the preceding verse speaking to you who are still in a denomination/organization?
"And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind." Numbers 16:28
"And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. [33] They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. [34] And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also." Numbers 16:32-34
Destruction awaits those in denominations!
II. Denominations of Jesus’ Day
What did Jesus say to the denominational leaders of His day?
"Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, [2] Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. [3] But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?"Matthew 15:1-3
"Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, [8] This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. [9] But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:7-9
The Early Church
Acts 15, here we read about a church sending leaders to another church. As part of the church in Jerusalem are the apostles and elders. Who were the apostles? These apostles were trained from the beginning with Jesus. Who are the elders? James the half brother of Jesus is considered by most as an elder. This is not a denomination or organization! Men like Peter were asked for doctrinal clarification. Why should Peter and the other apostles be consulted? They had been taught directly by Jesus for possibly three years. Paul in Galatians corrects Peter. Peter had no more authority than any Christian of today! Sure, some men lust after power, but not Peter or Paul! Some men want the ungodly power associated with an organization.
Paul's example
By Paul's example, he is teaching us not to look to man for approval! He preached and ministered without man's approval. You only need Jesus' approval! You don't need Bible college or seminary unless Jesus tells you to go. You need to be trained by the Holy Spirit of Jesus, 1 John 2:21.
"To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: [17] Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. [18] Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. [19] But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother."Galatians 1:16-19
Some say their organization is not a denomination. If it acts like a denomination, it is a denomination. Not all organizations are bad. A store, church, school, etc. are not taking the place of God. An organization that has authority over a church is wrong. An organization/denomination that has authority over a pastor is wrong. Only Jesus has authority over a pastor. The Holy Bible is the source of truth!
Unity
Do denominations build unity in the body of Christ? As some Christians say, "I am ____ (a certain denomination)", "I am ___", "I am___," etc.
"Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. [13] Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" 1 Corinthians 1:12-13
What did Jesus say?
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. John 17:11 "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. [22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: [23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." John 17:21-23
What did Paul say?
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” Romans 16:17
“For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”Acts 20:29-31
Peter brought disunity into the body of Christ by separating from other Christians. Paul as a Christian brother corrected Peter, Galatians 6:1.
"But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. [12] For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. [13] And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. [14] But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?"Galatians 2:11-14
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions (Greek - divisions), heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."Galatians 5:19-21
"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."1 Corinthians 1:10
"Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind." Philippians 2:2
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”1 Timothy 4:1-2
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”2 Timothy 4:3-4
III. The Church of Today
Are the members of the church today a Royal Priesthood?
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” 1 Peter 2:9
Then are they just to sit in a church meeting of today? In the Tabernacle and Temple there were NO chairs! The priests were to serve/minister. The priests had work to do. They were not controlled by other priests! They were directed by God only!
Today demonized priests are controlling what they call laity, the lay people. In Jesus’ Bible there are NO laity! All Christians are priests! NO priest is to be controlled by another priest! There are levels of responsibility. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers may ‘correct’ sheep, which is different from ‘controlling’ them.
“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”Hebrews 13:17 KJV
“Yield to those taking the lead of you, and submit, for they watch for your souls, giving an account, that
they may do this with joy, and not with grieving; for this would be unprofitable to you.” Hebrews 13:17JG
A shepherd leads the sheep; they follow him. He/she does not stand behind controlling the sheep. ‘Accountability’ and ‘responsibility’ are different from ‘covering’.
“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”1 Timothy 5:20, 4:2
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:2-5
“These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” Titus 2:15
Sure, the following verses are in the Old Covenant, but there is application for today.
“And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place. 6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs. 7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.”2 Chronicles 29:5-7
IV. Worship in Jesus' Meetings
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”1 Corinthians 14:40
Does your denominational church follow the Biblical design of a worship meeting or does it follow your denominational design for a meeting?
“How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.” 1 Corinthians 14:26
Do we dare do whatever man's traditions have taught us? Should one rethink the activities in our meetings? Denominations have a way of stating man's traditions as Biblical facts.
"And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. [2] And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. [3] Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace."Leviticus 10:1-3
V. Titles and Pride in Jesus' Church
Titles are great to build ones pride! Titles are great to exult oneself! What did Jesus say?
“And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, [7] And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. [8] But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. [9] And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. [10] Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. [11] But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. [12] And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”Matthew 23:6-12
Do you ever see anyone who is a Christian having a title before his name in God’s Holy Bible? We don’t see ‘Apostle Paul’, ‘Apostle Peter’, Deacon _____, Minister ______, Elder ______, etc. I have chosen to follow the Holy Bible!
There is at least one denomination that has bishops which are not pastoring a church and have never pastored a church! They could careless what the Holy Bible teaches, for they themselves are not holy.
Another church has pastors, but because they haven’t jumped through the hoops required of their ‘covering’ are called directors. The members of their church correct me by saying they are not pastors but directors. The pastors say they are not pastors but directors. I say ‘WHAT??????’! Jesus says, … .
Another church’s pastor only comes out to preach. He is not part of the praise and worship and prayer time. So, doesn’t he need to worship, praise, and pray with his church? Obviously, he or his denomination doesn’t think so!
Do you think Jesus approves of 'reverend'? Denominations started this man-made tradition!
VI. Will there be denominations in heaven?Of course not!!!!
Those in denominations with titles, try to take away your liberty. They want to control you!
“And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our libertywhich we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. 6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed tobesomewhat in conference added nothing to me:” Galatians 2:4-6
I am trying to do Jesus’ work by building His church.
Others are busy building their denomination/empire.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36
VII. Demons are in Control of Your Denomination’s Leadership
The spirit of Jezebel is in control of all denominations/organizations! These demons are known as the spirit of Jezebel, spirit of religion, spirit of control, spirit of witchcraft, spirit of mind control, spirit of the Nicolaitans, demon of spiritual abuse, spirit of hierarchy, spirit of manipulation, spirit of intimidation, spirit of cult bondage, etc.
“And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. 30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.”1 Kings 16:29-33
“For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, … .”1 Kings 18:4
How many real prophets of God does your denomination have?
“Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, how I hid an hundred men of the LORD'S prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?”1 Kings 18:13
“Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.” 1 Kings 18:19
Denominations have many false prophets. Just like the antichrist will have his own false prophet!
“And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.”1 Kings 21:20
How much is your soul worth? How much have you sold your soul for? Retirement, housing, money, status, etc. ?????In the Lake of Fire is the wrong place to spend eternity!
“And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?”2 Kings 9:22
“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.”Revelation 2:20
Easy application for those in a denomination.
VIII. Who is Your Covering?
Those of you who have been around for say thirty years; this is the old ‘Shepherdship doctrine’ under a new name. It is still the devil trying to control you.
The Biblical word for ‘covering’ is ‘atonement’.The word ‘covering’ in both the New Covenant and the Old Covenant never refers to a pastor or minister. Of course ‘covering’ never means ‘having control over another’. My covering is in the atonement Jesus provided for me at His death on the cross.
Your covering had better be Jesus and Jesus ONLY!
“And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”Romans 5:11
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”Romans 3:23-26
“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”1 Corinthians 11:3
The head of very man is Christ; it doesn’t say pastor, reverend, bishop, apostle, prophet, denomination, etc.
“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”Matthew 20:25-28
Who has dominion over you in the spiritual realm? Who exercises authority over you in the spiritual realm? If it is anyone but Jesus, fight the good fight! Or flee!
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” Ephesians 4:11-12
“Neither give place to the devil.”Ephesians 4:27
Jesus added this sentence because He know false apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers would come in and do the devil’s work! Such as place His people into the devil’s denominational system.
“The thief (false pastor/shepherd) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”John 10:10
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”2 Peter 2:1
“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalms 91:4
God covers you! Doesn’t say a person will cover you.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
“Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.”Matthew 18:23
“Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.”1 Peter 4:5
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”Acts 20:28-30
IX. The Sadducees and Pharisees of Today
How should one determine who the Sadducees and the Pharisees are today?
What did they do in the Gospels?
John the Baptist spoke to the Pharisees and Sadducees saying:
“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”Matthew 3:7-12
John told them they were a generation of vipers. What should they do? John tells them to produce fruits of repentance. John is water baptizing for repentance. The Pharisees and Sadducees needed to repent with proof of their repentance. The Pharisees and Sadducees of today need to repent with proof of their repentance, or they will be burned with unquenchable fire. After being taught this study you will be burned with unquenchable fire if you don’t repent and leave your denomination/organization!
“The Pharisees also with the Sadduceescame, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. 5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. 8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? 9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” Matthew 16:1-12
What is Jesus saying to you who are leaders or a part of a denomination/organization? The denominations will be tempting you to sin, because there are demons behind each organization. All denominations are wicked and adulterous! So, you must beware of their doctrines, says Jesus.
‘The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 And last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? 46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.”Matthew 22:23-46
The Sadducees and the Pharisees err because THEY don’t know the Scriptures or the Power of God! Denominations exist, why? Because their members don’t know the Power of God or God’s Scriptures! You must separate from error!
“And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. 5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. 18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. 22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed. 23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.”Acts 4:1-23
Your denomination wants to control everything religious in everyone’s life. Jesus is doing great things outside of your denomination, so your denomination seeks to control everyone who makes your denomination/organization look anemic! If your denomination can’t control them, it will write articles and books, etc. to punish those who won’t join your organization.
“Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; 51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. 52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. 53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: 54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.” Luke 11:49-54
Jesus said He would send prophets and apostles which you would persecute! An account of your sin will be required of you! What are the responses of those in denominations? Repentance? NO! They respond vehemently! Denominationalists try to provoke Jesus! What are your actions in your organization? What do you do against Jesus’ people?
The entire 23rd chapter of Matthew is about denominations. As you read the chapter please think about the denominations/organizations you know about. Aren’t you glad you have Jesus only as your covering? Aren’t you glad you are separate from those sinners in denominations?
In many more verses Jesus exposes the errors of your denomination.
A Pharisee that John exposes by name.
“I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.”3 John 1:9-10
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”John 10:1-16
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”2 Timothy 2:15-26
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”2 Timothy 3:1-14
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.”Matthew 10:16-23
“Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate. 8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person. 9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. 10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. 11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; 12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?”Proverbs 24:7-12
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”Matthew 15:14
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25
X. The Zadok PriesthoodZadok, a Hebrew word which means ‘just, justified’
Zadok was a descendant of Aaron. As a priest he realized David’s anointing. As a priest he was always true to God’s plan for His people. He was not into following the false leaders who were elevating themselves to usurp God’s anointed. He was not deceived into following the devil’s people! Today as New Covenant priests, we need to follow Jesus who is working through His anointed undershepherds.
“Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.”1 Chronicles 12:1
“And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.”1 Chronicles 12:23
“And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.” 1 Chronicles 12:28
“And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city. 25 And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation: 26 But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him. 27 The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. 28 See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me. 29 Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 30 And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.”2 Samuel 15:24-30
“And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.”2 Samuel 15:35
“But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD: 16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.” Ezekiel 44:15-16
“And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.”Ezekiel 44:23
“Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”Jeremiah 3:14-15
The Zadok Priesthood is forever
“And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.” 1 Samuel 2:35
“So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.”1 Kings 2:27
“And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.”1 Kings 2:35
The Zadok Priesthood is in the fourth temple – the Millennial Temple
“And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the LORD to minister unto him.”Ezekiel 40:46
“But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:”Ezekiel 44:15
XI. Will Brothers and Sisters in Denominations Go to HELL?
What does Matthew 7:21-23 and 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 say?
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. [17] Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, [18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."2 Corinthians 6:16-18
I would not want to risk my eternal destination by being a part of a denomination/organization!!!!!
